Nosferatu is a silent horror film released in 1922 and directed by F.W. Murnau. The film tells the story of a real estate agent named Hutter who travels to Transylvania to sell a property to Count Orlok, who is actually a vampire. After his arrival, Hutter realizes the danger he's in and tries to escape, but it's too late, and Orlok follows him back to his hometown, wreaking havoc along the way. The film is notable for its eerie atmosphere, the expressionistic use of light and shadow, and for Max Schreck's iconic portrayal of the vampire, which remains one of the most haunting performances in cinema history.
